A Great Opportunity to represent the Bristol Girl Geek Dinners Group by giving a talk at the Bristol ITMegaMeet 2013 (Saturday 1st June)

Dear Bristol Girl Geeks,

I’m helping with this free event to be held at UWE Frenchay on Saturday 1st June 2013.

We’re looking for Bristol Girl Geek Dinner members who work in either the computing/IT/teaching IT/computing industry to
speak at the Bristol ITMegaMeet this year on the theme of women in this industry. The talk would be to around 30 people to last for up to 40minutes (including the opportunity for any questions from the audience).
The MegaMeet is a community event, a great networking opportunity with a focus on the IT related open forum groups/communities in the city and the surrounding area.
200 people attended the first Bristol ITMegaMeet event last year and this year we’re expecting 300 people. There’s unfortunately no payment for the talk – all are giving their time for free with the open community theme, however this is a networking opportunity not to be missed, you will be given a Great free lunch/refreshments and there’s a free after-party.

The website is here:

The Talk:
A talk from Girl Geek representatives from your group would consist of a 10minutes introduction about the Bristol Girl Geek Dinners group followed by 30minutes (including questions from the audience) on the theme of women in the IT/computing industry. There may be several of you who wish to take part and if so you could each talk to contribute to the total 40minutes available to your group.

For infomation as to what kind of talks are given please see the group talks timetable for the event last year (the 1st year this event took place):
